Nepean Village Shopping Centre, Penrith NSW
Project Overview
Our team have recently revitalised Nepean Village Shopping Centre, navigating the challenges of a live retail environment.
ATG successfully delivered two significant projects at the Nepean Village Shopping Centre in Penrith, showcasing our expertise in complex refurbishments and heritage building remediation.
The first project involved the precise removal of 400m² of concrete to install new in-ground drainage and make grease arrestor modifications, followed by the installation of 180m² of stone pavers and 220m² of new concrete. This project also featured the construction of a new steel awning within the vicinity of two heritage buildings, preserving their historical value while enhancing their functionality.
In the second project, ATG’s involvement began with Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), where they collaborated with a structural engineer to assess the existing roof structure’s adequacy for supporting new feature ceilings & upgraded services. Given the limited availability of as-built drawings, ATG conducted thorough inspections and investigations of the existing services within the ceiling space, addressing potential relocations or modifications.
Additionally, hazardous materials testing and services investigations were carried out to ensure safety and compliance. The project saw the installation of Supawood feature ceilings, Big Ass Fans, and feature lighting, alongside the replacement of floor tiling. The food court area was revitalised with a new atrium roof and glazing, complemented by external enhancements such as column tiling and feature lighting.
All work was conducted after hours, with meticulous site cleaning to ensure seamless trading during the day. Both projects required careful management of public interactions, highlighting ATG’s commitment to minimising disruption and ensuring safety throughout the construction process.
